"I'm a big fan of the social philosopher Daniel Schmachtenberger, who is actively seeking solutions to the world’s 'wicked' problems in a holistic way. His work inspired me to create A.O.K. This painting speaks to how easy it is to take convenience for granted, paying little attention to the impact we’re having on the environment. Despite living in a world full of beauty, it’s easy to get distracted by illusions and material comforts, overlooking what truly matters. If we blindly chase convenience, ignoring the consequences, we risk flirting with human extinction. It’s a deep but reflective piece that addresses the idea that we may very well go down with the sinking ship. It’s a reminder for us all to think about our role—not just as guests in this world, but as caretakers. By shifting our perspective, we can see the true magnificence of life and take responsibility for preserving what’s important. Our choices, individually and collectively, can reflect the values that guide us toward a more sustainable and harmonious future."
